Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 7, 2026

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Eday Studio LLC, operator of Dog Breed Detector ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, mobile app, and related services (the "Service").

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

3. How We Use Information
4. Image Processing & Retention

When you upload an image, it is transmitted to our Vercel-hosted backend and then to OpenAI for visual analysis. We process images to return the requested result and do not intentionally make uploaded images publicly available.

We ask for explicit permission before sending photos to Vercel and OpenAI. On the website, that happens before the first upload. In the mobile app, Agree & allow during onboarding covers Terms acceptance and photo analysis together. The website remembers current Terms acceptance and photo-processing permission in your browser; the app remembers them on your device. On the website, use the Photo permissions control beside the scanner's privacy notice to review the policies or stop future photo analysis. In the app, use Privacy & Settings to withdraw or restore permission. After withdrawal, no future photo will be sent unless you grant permission again.

Server retention: our application does not intentionally save uploaded images to a long-term image store, and our application logs do not include the uploaded image. OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models unless the API customer explicitly opts in; we have not opted in. Under OpenAI's default API controls, request content may be retained in abuse-monitoring logs for up to thirty days, unless longer retention is legally required or needed to prevent harm. Images flagged as potentially unlawful may be retained for safety review. If our storage practices change, we will update this policy.

5. Service Providers and Analytics

We use Vercel to host and operate the Service, OpenAI to analyze submitted images, Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights for aggregate website measurement, and Google Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance Monitoring for mobile product analytics, reliability, and performance. We do not use these services for advertising, do not enable ad tracking, and do not attach photos or feedback comments to analytics or diagnostics. These providers may process request, device, usage, crash, and performance data on our behalf and are required to handle it consistently with their contractual and legal obligations.

You can clear local website storage through your browser settings. In the mobile app, you can withdraw photo-processing permission or permanently clear all locally saved scans from Privacy & Settings. On the website, you can also withdraw photo-processing permission through the Photo permissions control beside the scanner. The mobile app uses a random persistent install identifier rather than an account identity; the website uses aggregate analytics. We generally cannot use these anonymous records to identify, retrieve, or delete analytics for a specific person. Feedback messages are kept separately from analytics and handled as communications.

6. Sharing of Information

We share information only as needed to operate the Service, including:

7. Third-Party Links

The Service may link to third-party sites (for example, Buy Me a Coffee). If you follow those links, your activity is governed by the third party's privacy policy, not ours.

8. Your Choices & Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, delete, or correct personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. The Service has no user accounts and does not keep a server-side scan history. You can withdraw website photo-processing permission beside the scanner or remove all website preferences through your browser. You can manage mobile permission and scan history through the app's Privacy & Settings screen. To make a request concerning a support communication or other information that can reasonably be associated with you, contact us at joseph@eday.studio.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above indicates when it was most recently revised. If the current Terms version or photo-processing notice changes, the website or mobile app will ask again before sending another photo.

12. Contact Us

For questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us at joseph@eday.studio.
